Tyler John Hartman is a bit of a conundrum. Now operating out of the Willamette Valley of Oregon, Tyler's formative years took place in North Dakota, where he spent his days staring at wheat fields and listening to equal parts NOFX, Hot Water Music, and John Prine. This range of influence has always caused Tyler's music to exist in a space that is not quite punk and not quite folk.
Prior to an extended hiatus from recording and performing, Tyler's previous musical endeavor (Fighting at a College Level) shared stages across with country with acts such as Against Me!, The Ataris, MGMT, and The Gaslight Anthem. Now, with a much slower pace of life, and inspiration from the beauty and magnificence of the Oregon countryside around him, Tyler has returned from his hiatus with six new albums of original material, as well as two cover song albums, both of which have benefitted local charities over the years.
